Where the Mountain Meets the Moon

When we saw the play Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, not only was there great acting, but the outfits really made the story come to life. In the story a girl named Minli sets off on a journey to change her poor family’s fortune by going to a mysterious old man for advice. On the way, she meets some interesting characters as well. After the play, four kids from each class grades 3-6 got to go to a readers theater. In this event the kids learned about purple words, got tips from the actors, and acted out the short story of Humpty Dumpty. This play and activity were very fun and we hope to have more experiences like it.

On December 8, 2011, three people from Book It Theater performed “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon” for our school. After the play, a number of kids went to the book it workshop held by the three actors who performed the play. The kids who were at the workshop did a mini play of “Humpty Dumpty” for each other. They also played a game where someone says a word and everyone acts it out. After the workshop, everyone left with smiles on their faces.Article by 6th grade student McKenna Henderson
