The purpose of the Centennial Site Council is to:

1. develop, implement, monitor, and assess the strategic plan at Centennial Elementary.
2. to serve as a forum for input and decision-making by stakeholders.

The Site Council meets in October, January and May.

Centennial Site Council Bylaws

1. Purpose
The purpose of the Centennial Site Council is to:
1. Develop, implement, monitor and assess the strategic plan at Centennial Elementary.
2. To serve as a forum for input and decision-making by stakeholders.
2. Voting Membership
1. Volunteer Members
* Total of four parent/community members selected on a volunteer basis.
* Should the number of volunteers exceed four, membership will be determined by consensus within the volunteer group.
* Membership to include primary, intermediate and special needs parents.
2. Elected Members
* Total of eight staff members with representation as follows:
o One (1) Kindergarten - 2nd grade teacher
o One (1) 3rd - 4th grade teacher
o One (1) 5th - 6th grade teacher
o One (1) Special Programs teacher or Specialist
o Total of 3 classified staff members
* Staff representation will be selected by consensus within the designated teams.
3. Standing Members
* One (1) Administrator
4. Designated Members
* Total of three. (if not elected by their constituent groups)
o Leadership Team Member 1
o Leadership Team Member 2
o Instructional Coach
o Facilitator - The building principal and a leadership team member will serve as facilitato.
o Secretary - Selected by the council (selected in the fall to serve a one year term).
5. Students will be provided a forum for input through the Student Council.
6. All Centennial Site Council members serve as volunteer unpaid members.
3. Term
Each member will serve for a minimum of one (1) school year. To provide continuity in membership from one year to the next, council members may serve more than one term.
4. Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the representatives to solicit opinions and concerns from the people they represent and to present this information to the Centennial Site Council. The representatives shall keep their constituents informed of all actions under consideration by the Centennial Site Council. While it is the responsibility of Centennial Site Council members to bring forward opinions of the group they represent, it is acceptable for representatives to express personal opinions, as long as the distinction is made between group and personal opinions. Regular attendance is expected.

When in the opinion of the Centennial Site Council, an issue requires broader discussion, the item in question will be scheduled for an additional meeting.
