  • Willy Wonka

First through sixth grade students performed in Willy Wonka Kids April 19th and 20th.  Here is an article about the experience written by 3rd grade Oompa-Loompa Connor Hoffman.

The Willy Wonka Kids Musical was fantastic.  In Willy Wonka Kids we set up all the equipment.  It was hard.  Then we closed the curtains.  Now, I’m going to tell you about the play.  It was very exciting playing it for the school.  We performed two more times at 7:00pm on April 19, 2012 and April 20, 2012.  Now back to the play.  When we started singing The Golden Age of Chocolate I was kind of scared.  But at the end of it I wasn’t.  The play was very fun.  When Wonka gave Charlie the factory I just watched.  This was just an Oompa-Loompa talking to you.

  • Battle of the Books

Centennial’s school Battle of the Books was Thursday April 19th.  The winning team made up of Matthew Ferguson, Jared Coffelt, Saydee Carstens, and Jady Potts will represent Centennial at the Bethel School District Battle on May 3rd.  Here is an article written by third grade student Zack Farley about the event.

The Battle of the Books was awesome!!  A team won with 22 points!  They had to answer 25 questions and they were really intense!  They had to read at least 5/16 books, it was amazing!  At the end people were crying because they lost but they were proud.  I think they were the best at battle of the books because they had the best sportsmanship throughout the whole game.  I hope they were proud of themselves because they worked really hard to do Battle of the Books.  Next year I bet they will win.  They just have to read more carefully and you might win Battle of the Books because you read carefully.  The people in the Battle of the Books might win some day and they will get better every time.  They do Battle of the Books every year.  That is a skill to practice every day and you will get so good you might be able to win every time you do Battle of the Books. Come see the Battle of the Books, it is amazing—come see it.
